Working dogs brings together the gundogs, herding dogs and big working breeds from across the Dogs section - more than thirty prints in one place, for anyone who owns or works with one.
The gundogs include black, yellow, chocolate and golden Labradors, Golden and Flat Coated Retrievers, Springer and Cocker Spaniels, English, Gordon and Irish Setters, a Weimaraner and a German Shorthaired Pointer. The herding breeds include Border Collies, Rough and Bearded Collies, the Shetland Sheepdog, the Old English Sheepdog, German Shepherds and Mike Sibley's The Gatekeeper. There are also Rottweiler, Bernese Mountain Dog, Newfoundland, Irish Wolfhound and Beagle prints.
Many are Mike Sibley pencil studies. Mike Sibley trained at Leeds College of Art and is known for pencil drawings of extraordinary detail - a single head study can take seventy hours or more, and it looks as though every hair has been drawn. The colour portraits are by Brian Hupfield, Ken Messom, B.A. Crosby, Michael O'Brien and Robbie Ferrier, whose Border Collie in Spring and in Summer are the largest prints here at 64 x 47 cm.
Most prints are around twenty pounds, with the Ferrier pair at £24.99. Each breed also has its own section. If the breed or pose you want is not here, ask us - we are a small family business and we are happy to check.
