- 1
Berkshire is a Thames section. All three prints are by Philip and Glyn Martin, and all three are on or beside the river as it runs through the east of the county.
Bray is the village near Maidenhead better known now for its restaurants than its riverside, and the print shows the older, quieter side of it. Maidenhead Bridge is the handsome eighteenth-century stone bridge carrying the old Bath road over the Thames, and Caversham Bridge crosses the river at Reading.
Philip and Glyn Martin print strictly limited editions, individually numbered out of 850 and hand signed, and each original watercolour is used for one edition only. Many of the originals from the set are still available, so it is worth asking if you would like the painting rather than the print.
All three are £29.95. The Thames carries on into Oxfordshire upstream and into Surrey downstream, and both of those sections have more river subjects, including Runnymede and the river at Kingston.
