Lincolnshire has five prints by two artists, from Stamford in the far south to the Wolds in the east.
Three are Martin Goode watercolours of Stamford, the stone town that is often called the finest in England: Red Lion Square, a second view of the town, and Stamford Meadows beside the River Welland. Martin Goode was known for his attention to detail and his carefully constructed compositions, and his prints are small - around 15 x 10 cm or 20 x 13 cm before mounting - so they suit a standard off-the-shelf mount and frame.
The other two are by John Bird. St James' Church in Louth has one of the tallest medieval spires in the country, and Alford Mill is the five-sailed windmill on the edge of the Wolds, listed Grade I. John Bird is a Doncaster-born artist who has painted for English Heritage, the National Trust and the English Tourist Board. His prints are around 41 x 28 cm and each one is signed and titled by hand.
The Goode prints are eleven to fourteen pounds and the John Bird prints are eighteen. Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire are the neighbouring sections. If the place you are looking for is not here, ask us - we are a small family business and we are happy to check.
