Surrey is one of the largest English sections, with seventeen Martin Goode watercolours spread along the Thames and across the Surrey Hills.
Kingston upon Thames gets the most attention: All Saints church, the Apple Market, the Market Place and the river itself. Nearby are Surbiton, the Lock Up in Ewell village and the Grandstand at Epsom racecourse. Upriver there are two prints of Runnymede - the bridge and the Magna Carta site - and Savill Gardens at the edge of Windsor Great Park.
Guildford has three: the castle, the steep High Street and the River Wey. The rest of the county is represented by Old Woking, the old mill at Cobham, the White Horse at Dorking and the village of Chiddingfold.
Martin Goode was known for his attention to detail and his carefully constructed compositions, and his prints are small - around 15 x 10 cm or 20 x 13 cm before mounting - so they suit a standard off-the-shelf mount and frame.
Most prints are eleven pounds, with the larger ones at fourteen. Berkshire, Sussex, Kent and London all border Surrey and each has its own section. If the place you are looking for is not here, ask us - we are a small family business and we are happy to check.
