The spectacular building of the railway station, described by Sir John Betjeman as the "most splendid station facade in Britain", was designed in 1847-48. IT is a Grade I building. The station is on St George's Square, where you will find a statue of Harold Wilson (former UK Prime Minister). Each print is signed and titled personally by John. About the artist John Bird
John is a Doncaster born artist, who as well as painting many scenes of his home town and county has travelled all over Britain painting scenes of town and places. John has a collection of paintings of animals, his other passion. He paints for English Heritage, The English Tourist Board, The National Trust and the Wild Life Trust. A piece of his work was presented to the Governor of Hong Kong.
